The Wellfleet Food Pantry has been serving our community since 1999. In 2016 the pantry provided food to more than 125 families (over 300 individuals), helping them through lean times and freeing a little money for other needs. These numbers represent more than 10% of Wellfleet’s year-round population.
We are funded almost entirely by private contributions. We use your gifts to purchase food from the Greater Boston Food Bank and local sources. In addition, we depend on the Lower Cape Outreach Council food network to help fill our shelves. Your contributions have made it possible for our neighbors with limited financial resources to save a little money on food and have a bit more for housing, heat, clothing and health care.
The Wellfleet Food Pantry is located in the Grace Chapel at the corner of Route 6 and Lieutenant Island Road in South Wellfleet. Hours are Monday 4:30-6:30, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00-noon. First time users must register with the Lower Cape Outreach Council by calling 508-240- 0694.
Volunteers from the community staff the food pantry. We are always in need of new volunteers to serve our clients. If you or a friend would be interested in volunteering, as little as two hours per month, please contact us at 508-349- 3036. We have a great need, especially in the winter months.
Donations of food may be brought to the pantry during operating hours.
Tax-deductible financial contributions may be sent to:

Thank you for your generosity in providing food for our neighbors.
No one in the Wellfleet community should have to start their day hungry. The truth is however, that some of our neighbors have to choose between buying groceries, heating the house, or getting a prescription renewed. The Wellfleet Food Pantry provides food to needy families in the community, helping them through lean times and freeing a little money for other needs.
